PPLH IPB melakukan kajian Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) di area lapangan Duri Steam Fload (DSF) Wilayah Kerja Rokan. Kajian dilakukan pada 24 hingga 30 September 2022 di Rokan, Provinsi Riau. Kajian ini berbeda dengan studi lingkungan lain seperti Kajian Lingkungan Hidup Strategis (KLHS) maupun Environmental Baseline Assessment (EBA). BAP pada dasarnya adalah road map yang disusun oleh lembaga/unit managemen untuk melindungi keanekaragaman hayati (Biodiversity). Tindakan yang akan dilakukan dapat berupa kebijakan/program aksi yang ditujukan untuk merespon penyebab ataupun status keanekaragaman hayati (ekosistem atau species).
Kajian ini bersifat voluntary guna memenuhi himbauan komitmen global yang telah diratifikasi oleh Pemerintah Republik Indonesia (RI) dengan Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat (DPR) bersama-sama dengan negara lain di dunia, yaitu terkait dengan isu Convention on BioDiversity (CBD) dan kesepakatan Protokol Nagoya serta Aichi Target. Dalam Aichi target terdapat kewajiban setiap negara untuk membuat BAP yang selaras dengan Rencana Pembangunan Nasional.
Pemrakarsa kegiatan adalah Pertamina Subholding Upstream dan Pertamina Hulu Rokan. Tim yang dipimpin oleh Prof. Dr. Lilik Budi Prasetyo beranggotakan Dr. Rinekso Soekmadi, Sutopo, Siswoyo, dan Aryo Adi Condro. Luaran dari kajian adalah Biodiversity Action Plan yang memuat Visi-Misi Unit Management dan uraian mengenai Road Map atau rencana pencapaian target tersebut melalui berbagai kebijakan dan atau program aksi konservasi keanekaragaman hayati (kehati), baik merespon penyebab dinamika ataupun status kehati.

Kegiatan penyusunan BAP dilakukan selama 3 bulan diawali dengan survey pengambilan data dan penyusunan dokumen. Hasil akhir akan dipresentasikan pada pemrakarsa dan instansi terkait sebagai salah satu langkah sosialisasi rencana aksi serta implementasi program pengelolaan keanekaragaman hayati. Pihak pemerintah, dinas dan lembaga terkait juga dilibatkan dalam penyusunan dokumen ini.
